The circular economy seeks a sustainable objective, which is that the value of products, materials and resources be maintained in the economy for the longest time possible, and thus minimize the generation of waste. It is a matter of implementing a non-linear economy, based on the principle of “closing the life cycle” of products, services, waste, materials, water and energy. The fact is that the current linear system (extraction, manufacture, use and disposal) has reached its limits and the depletion of a number of natural resources and fossil fuels is beginning to be seen.
ICP Consulting offers consultancy for the development of a whole political framework to define a change towards a resource efficient and low carbon economy, in order to:
- Improve the economy by seeking to reduce the use of resources in counterpoint to a macroeconomic and speculative economy.
- Business innovation by identifying and creating new sustainable economic opportunities.
- Combat climate change and limit environmental impacts.
As a result of the consulting process, two business models have been developed; on the one hand, the company Twice Solutions was created and on the other, the concept of the Technological Innovation Center was defined and created.
Twice Solutons is a company that offers specialized services and advice in the energy and environmental sector in general, and develops applications that promote the lifespan of products and their reuse (Second Life) assuming the paradigm shift towards considering waste as a resource.
It offers services of regeneration and reuse of batteries, preparation for the reuse of electrical and electronic equipment, and advice on environmental policies, strategies and legislation.
The C.I.T, Center for Technological Innovation, integrates in a single installation, the industrial waste management with the concepts of Circular Economy and Second Life, by the means of the regeneration of batteries and the reuse of RAEES. This actually helps consolidate the CSR of the company and its contribution to the preservation of the environment, thus contributing to the improvement of the competitiveness of companies.
